Click here to learn about the three types of RESNET exams, arranging a proctor, cost of exams, and preparing to take the exams.
NEHERS FEES: For the HERS Rater re-test and the Combustion Safety Written re-test, NEHERS charges a $50 application fee to set up the exam, communicate with the proctor, do follow-up, and respond to the student. We waive our fee for the Combustion Safety Practical re-test and Practical Simulation re-test. At the time you take the exam, RESNET charges an exam fee (see exam fees below).
RESNET FEES: RESNET tests will require a VISA or MASTERCARD for the online payment to RESNET at the time of the test. RESNET test fees are as follows: HERS Rater= $125, Combustion Safety Written = $50. RESNET waives the fee for the Combustion Safety Practical and allows as many re-tests as necessary, but a proctor is still required. And for the Practical Simulation Exam, they provide three access codes at the time the student registers for the test, which allows two re-test attempts before the student has to pay the $200 fee for the software again.
